Resources

We are currently working hard on producing two new resources, one for Youth Leaders and their teams, the other is for young leaders.

Youth Leaders/Teams Resources

‘Get started - with this 10 session Resource for youth leaders and their volunteer teams…’

Taking an ‘in depth’ look at key issues such as: - how to get alongside local young people, building relationships with young people, how to empower young people. youth discipleship and youth worship. These topics are all explored within the framework of taking a step by step approach to pioneer youth church. This resource will give a team a clear sense of direction, some key pieces of learning and the tools needed to develop youth church in different contexts.

Young Leaders

‘By young people and for young people – a 10 session Resource for young leaders learning to lead & for youth leaders keen to help them grow…’

We explore some of the foundational building blocks that can help young leaders grow whilst then exploring exercises and tasks to help young leaders begin leading. This resource aims to both inspire young leaders to get going with God and step out in faith whilst equipping adult youth leaders to support, nurture and mentor them at the same time. Taking a both/and approach reduces the risk of burn out or unhealthy development as we aim to grow young leaders into Christ like disciples.

Andy's bookAndy Milne has written a book called The ‘DNA of Pioneer Ministry’ (SCM, 2016) – a book explaining useful practices and methods for pioneering new forms of church, using the story of a youth church in Bradford as a key example.
Beginning with a chapter on ‘calling’ and then looking at ways to find and form a team, the book then explores ways to read a local context, make connections with local young people before forming a Christian community with them and their peers. Once such a Christian community has begun to take shape, the book delves deeper to look at ways to make disciples, begin worship and grow young leaders. This book is a good place to start for those wanting to consider a calling to pioneer missional youth church. Buy it here
